Next generation embedded USB 2.0 extender modules featuring ExtremeUSB® and support for SwitchableUSB™ now available
Burnaby, British Columbia – February 24, 2014 – Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology, today announced its newest embedded extension platform, the USB 2.0 RG2300 Core Series, is commercially available for OEM developers.
The new embedded series offers developers a choice of two core models: the RG2300 and RG2310. The RG2300 builds upon Icron’s previous generations of reliable embedded USB 2.0 extension daughter board modules with pin-to-pin compatibility to Icron’s earlier RG2100 Core Series, while the RG2310 provides enhanced capabilities including USB 2.0 transmission over Local Area Network (LAN), SwitchableUSBTM compatibility, device filtering options, and optimized performance for read-write devices such as flash drives.

Both the RG2300 and RG2310 core modules are delivered in a compact, cost-effective SO-DIMM form factor, which can be extended over copper, LAN, multimode fiber or singlemode fiber, and include the ExtremeUSB® suite of features:
